We were invited to stay at The Woodland Collection, a group of luxury holiday homes at Sunrise Farm, conveniently located between Helston, Hayle and Penzance. We stayed at The Woodland Collection during our Cornish Coast Path adventure, while tackling the stretch between Hayle and Cape Cornwall. Having somewhere to base ourselves was comforting. Nothing quite beats a relaxing warm shower after a day of hiking!

DOGSCLOSURE: We received a complimentary 3 night stay at The Woodland Collection during our in exchange for this blogpost review.

The Woodland Collection comprises of 4 luxury holiday homes. Each named after a species of British woodland tree; Holly, Oak, Sycamore and Beech. They’re all semi-detached new builds, completed in summer 2019 with contemporary interiors throughout.

Of course, all of The Woodland Collection’s homes are dog friendly. The owners, Helen and Richard, have gone above and beyond to ensure four legged friends feel welcome and enjoy their stay. Each home has its own private back garden. The central fence can be opened to accommodate larger parties staying together. The holiday homes sleep 2-6 people each but larger bookings can also be accommodated.

The properties have their own heated dog shower in the garden. It’s perfect for cleaning muddy spaniels and wellies after a morning exploring in the nearby woods. The showers are also ideal for cleaning sandy feet and wetsuits after a day at the beach. St. Ives, St. Michael’s Mount and The Lizard are all a short drive from The Woodland Collection.

The Woodland Collection properties are open plan downstairs with underfloor heating. The kitchen is equipped with all the mod cons, including dishwasher, microwave, oven and stove. There’s also a kettle tap, which dispenses boiling water instantly!

There’s plenty of room to set up a crate at The Woodland Collection. Whether your dog usually sleeps in the bedroom, on the landing or downstairs, there’s more than enough space. Woody and Hen live a life of luxury and sleep with me in my bed. I usually bring blankets to cover and protect furniture with when we’re away. However, this time I forgot. Fortunately there were more than enough throws in the property for us to use.

Upstairs you’ll find three ensuite bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a cosy double bed with Juliette balcony, which looks out across the farm and its fields. There’s a king size bed to the front of the property and you’ll find large bunk beds in the final bedroom. It’s safe to say the properties are definitely family friendly!

There’s a smart TV in every bedroom, as well as downstairs too. It was such a luxury being able to watch films from bed in the evening, especially after a long day of walking! You can even connect to your Netflix account via the TV and superfast WiFi is available throughout the property.

Conservation and sustainability are important to The Woodland Collection. Helen and Richard are passionate about reintroducing wildlife and nurturing biodiverse ecosystems across their farm. As a result, they’ve planted over 200 trees in their woodland, many of which are native species. They’ve also dug out two ponds, which are already proving popular with local fish!

Resident spaniel Jack and his terrier sidekick Tilly were excited to show Woody and Hen around their woods. Having private land to walk the dogs on at our doorstep was incredible.
